DEPARTMENT OF Physics PROFILE



 

   VISION                            :   To stimulate and promote students' interest in studying physics as a subject within the curriculum.

  MISSION                     :   To spark the interest of the younger generation and identify their physics-related abilities.

 INTRODUCTION    The Department of Physics was established in 1992 and provided MPC and MPCs programmes with approved strengths of 30 and 50. The department has excellent physical facilities for holding UG practicals. The majority of classes take place in the virtual classroom, and PPT-based lessons are taught using an LCD projector. A total of two teaching positions have been authorised and filled. They each have a doctorate and 26 years of experience in cutting-edge research and teaching. It is one of the college's top departments. Student-centric methods are used in the department, including induction training, assignments, study projects, quizzes, poster presentations, student seminars, field trips, community service projects, internships, and workshops. The department also provides innovative projects for meritorious students, remedial classes for slow learners, ward counselling, and promotes energy conservation as a best practice.

Dr. V. Raja,as chairman of the Board of Studies at the affiliating university, and Dr. J. Subrahmanyam, as a member of the Board of Studies, actively contributed to the development of the curriculum for UG programmes at the university.

Major Dr. J. Subrahmanyam has over 24 years of experience as an NCC officer and has won numerous honours and awards from NCC officials.

Dr. V. Raja received the Best Teacher Award from the Andhra Pradesh government in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, research, and society-enriching initiatives.As a research supervisor, Dr. Raja produced two Ph.D graduates in 2019 and 2022, and two more are currently pursuing their degrees. Dr. Raja collaborates on research with the physics department at Vikrama Simhapuri University.
