Since the inception of the Department in the Year 1981, it has been Catering to teaching English Language and Literature and promoting interest and Creativity in the English Language.


The Department is run by vibrant teachers helping the students to express their ideas, feelings attitudesunambiguously. The adequate learning resources in the departmental library and the language laboratory strengthen teaching & learning and expand the horizon of knowledge.

  • To develop interest and sensibility for English language and literature among the students.
  • To help them rid of fear of English.
  • To build the much needed language proficiency.
  • To involve them actively in the process of learning the language by conducting language games, seminars, group discussions, debates and other literary events.
  • To support them use accurate English by teaching grammar inductively.
  • To make them fluent speakers and avid readers.
  • To promote peer -  learning  and self-learning habits.
  • To inculcate job skills and soft among  the students in order to make them successful at home and office.
  • Use only English in English class and lab.
  • Follow the instructions of the lecturer clearly before doing the activity.
  • Seek the help of the guide or peers before FIXING a trouble.
  • Do not use the system for personal purposes.
  • Avoid using other’s computer of keyboard.
  • Write down or record the important data before shutting down the system.
  • Ensure the safety of the furniture and the computers in the lab.
