DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY PROFILE

• The Department of Chemistry in SVSSC Government Degree collegeSullurupet is established in 1981-1982.
• Department of chemistry is established in 1992
• Department of chemistry is now offering UG and PG courses .
• In UG courses we have got M.P.C & B.Z.C combination.
• The Intake for BZC is 40 and that of for MPC it is 30 for E.M.
• The Department is provided with one lab and staff room with balance and physical Lab.
• Aims and objectives of the department are

i)   To Provide quality of educations to the students of rural back ground a   and down trodden people .

ii)  To Provide a chance to the students to chose higher education and provide employment through JKC.

iii)To Provide better Knowledge in green chemistry and environmental chemistry which are allied fields of chemistry

iv) To Prepare students for potential employment and for higher education.

• The department has adopted effective teaching methods like

i)   Black board teaching

ii)  Using power point presentation

iii) Using digital class

iv) Using Models

v) By using ICT Methods

• The Department Participates extensive activities like Nation Pollution control day and some other programs related to the faculty like Environmental protection programmes ( Ozone day).
• The Department conduct co curricular activities like assignments , seminars ,remedial coaching classes and also provide coaching for higher education and competitive exams .
• Some additional curricular activities like study materials  and give personal counselling for students .
• Some extra curricular activities like Green and Clean program , Blood donation camps and participating in NSS activities 
• Faculty has BOS Membership with Acharya Nagarjuna University and V.S University.
• A part from this Department conducts student seminar , Quiz Competition, National Science day Celebrations to make Knowledge about the significance of chemistry in order to  enhance  the Standards of Students.

2       To promote and inspire and furnish the fundamental of chemistry through UG &PG Courses offered for the basic sciences.

3       Emphasis on Concept – Theory – Practical training to build research interest in         Productive scientist , excellent teachers and other professionals .
